We welcome specific questions. Due to high volume of applications, we may not be able to respond immediately. Your patience is appreciated.
If an animal is on our website, it is still available but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, it is in your best interest to submit an application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
As an all-volunteer, foster home based organization, ARF does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we must give priority to pre-approved applicants.
Dixie is a 3 year old beagle/shepherd mix who is a love bug at heart. She weighs in at 40 pounds and loves to sit on your lap to watch TV. Dixie is good with other dogs, cats, and kids. She loves snacks and will give you her googly eyes until she gets them. Dixie walks well on a leash and would love to have someone who likes to run or play ball with her. She is house-trained and has been left alone for 6 hours with no problems. It would be nice if she had a doggie friend to play with her. Dixie requires a fenced-in yard because her nick-name is Houdiniette. Hopefully once spayed, she will be less interested in getting out and exploring!
Dixie is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and is schedlued to be spayed 2/19/18. Her new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Dixie's adoption fee is $275.
